The Townline Early Childhood Center opened for the 2024-2025 school year in August. From ground breaking in November 2022 to Ribbon cutting in September 2024, this brand new building is a stunning 2 wing, 16 classroom school to serve some of the youngest students of the Kentwood school district.

Some Construction "Fun Facts":

  • 1,850 cubic yards of concrete and 74,113 blocks of masonry were used for this project

  • The length of metal installed for wall panels, metal roof and soffit would have stretched over 6 miles long combined

  • 680 pieces of glass weighing a total of 40,000 lbs. was used for all the windows and doors throughout the building

  • Finishing the walls took 600 gallons of block filler, 650 gallons of finish paint and 125 gallons of intumescent paint

  • The electrical contractors ran approximately 45,000 feet of conduit and 175,000 feet of wire through the building to supply power to 450 outlets, 650 light fixtures and more.
